Join us at the Clay Township Military Library & Museum on August 4th as we celebrate the U.S. Coast Guard Birthday by spreading kindness across our community!
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help organize hands-on community projects, greet visitors, and share small acts of gratitude for our service members and veterans. Come give back, honor our maritime guardians, and make a direct local impact.
On Tuesday, August 4th, as part of the community-wide Jim Irsay 1976 Acts of Kindness Day, the Clay Township Military Library & Museum is opening its doors for a meaningful day of service celebrating U.S. Coast Guard history and our local veteran community.
We are calling on civic-minded volunteers to step into dynamic roles designed to build connection, share history, and show gratitude to those who served.
Volunteer Role Highlights:
Veteran Hospitality Lead / Host: Greet visiting veterans and military families, manage refreshment stations, and offer personalized tours or assistance through the museum.
Story Corner Facilitator: Help coordinate the museum’s Story Corner—guiding youth and family storybook sessions, helping visitors navigate historical audio clips, or assisting veterans who wish to record their own brief service accounts.
Acts of Kindness Station Support: Assist guests with hands-on service activities, including crafting thank-you cards and packaging care bundles for military personnel.
