Role Overview Diwali Festival of Lights Volunteer Booth Lead
As a Volunteer Booth Lead, you are the central nervous system of the festival’s operations. You are responsible for ensuring our dedicated team of volunteers is checked in, energized, and equipped to create a seamless experience for all attendees. This role is ideal for a natural leader who enjoys "mission control" dynamics and high-level organization.
Key Responsibilities
Check-In & Deployment: Greet arriving volunteers, verify their assignments, and provide them with their official City of Carmel volunteer t-shirts and credentials.
Command Center Support: Serve as the primary hub for volunteer questions, providing directions to specific stations like the Swagat Committee or the Laddoo distribution area.
Shift Management: Monitor volunteer rosters to ensure all stations are fully staffed throughout the festival, coordinating breaks and floating "relief" volunteers where needed.
Resource Distribution: Manage the supply of water, snacks, and "volunteer kits," ensuring the team stays hydrated and motivated.
On-the-Fly Briefings: Provide quick, enthusiastic orientations for late arrivals or last-minute recruits, ensuring everyone understands their role and the festival’s safety protocols.
Who You Are
An Organizational Pro: You love a good spreadsheet and can manage multiple moving parts without breaking a sweat.
The Ultimate Encourager: You have a "coach" mentality, keeping morale high even during the busiest parts of the celebration.
A Clear Communicator: You can relay instructions concisely and effectively in a bustling environment.
Reliability: You are the first to arrive and the anchor for the team, providing a steady presence for our volunteer community.
